After 20 plus years of doing theatre, I have shifted my focus to film and have been involved in many films in the last two years starting in November of 2018. I have also worked for Saturday Night Live and was “Ted O’Toole” in the Disney series Cool Tool Adventures.
Theatre acting credits include Joe Bonaparte in Golden Boy (Harold Clurman Festival) La Grange in Two Precious Maidens Ridiculed (Irish Arts Center), The Second Sheppard’s Play and Everyman (Metropolitan Museum of Art), John Proctor in The Crucible , Charlie in The Foreigner , Kit Carson in Time of Your Life.
Shakespeare credits include Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Sir Andrew in Twelfth Night, Puck in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twin Dromios in Comedy of Errors, Iago in Othello, Gravedigger, Claudius and Laertes in Hamlet, Caliban and Stephano in The Tempest, Costard in Loves Labours Lost, Launce in Two Gentlemen of Verona, Belarius in Cymbeline, Richard in Richard III , and Dr. Caius in Merry Wives of Windsor in which I won the Queens Kudo Award for Best Supporting Actor.
I have a specialized BA Degree in Shakespearean Theatre from the CUNY BA Program and a Master's Degree in Theatre from Hunter College. I have studied with Ruby Dee, Eve Adamson of the Jean Cocteau Repertory Company, The Actor’s Studio, and the American Academy of Dance and Drama.
Guy Ventoliere has been organizing, instructing, and creating Theatre in New York for over twenty-five years. Earning a specialized BA in Shakespearean Theatre as well as his Masters in Theatre from Hunter College, he has worked in the shades of every curtain, not only delegating but building, ensuring the smoothest of shows or programs he was put at the helm of. He educates, directs, and produces, all the while maintaining a career in the events industry.
After teaching theatre abroad, Guy became the resident Children’s Theatre Director for Lehman College, where he also taught Drama, Directing and Arts Management. He has been a drama instructor to both children and adults at various organizations including The Bronx Dance Theatre and Long Lake Performing Arts School. He has developed arts curriculums for both the New York Board of Education and The Arch Dioceses and has trained their staff on teaching & directing adolescents. He worked on several initiatives, co-sponsored by PASE (Partnership for Afterschool Education.) He also serves on the funding selection panel for Queens Council of the Arts, the Department of Cultural Affairs, and works closely with the mayor’s tourism office of NYCGO, advising them events and many of which he has sponsored while working for various event technology companies.
As the Director of Development for Children and the Classics, Guy brought programs and support to children and organizations with little exposure to the arts in the five boroughs. Some of these include the V.I.P. (Voice, Identity, and Power) Program, whose mission is to empower growing girls by introducing them to positive female role models in the arts, The Self Expression Project, in partnership with the Children’s Aid Society and funded by the Robin Hood Foundation, and the Partners Program, which supplied organizations with costumes, scripts, and theatrical equipment. He also developed the Classic Theatre Collaborative, which introduced classical theatre to children & youth. His specialized program was implemented in over 32 Community Based Organizations throughout NYC including various locations of YMCA of Greater New York, and The After School Corporation.
While earning his undergraduate degree and some time after, and while teaching, Guy was a builder. He has built sets for Lincoln Center and Saturday Night Live and was a resident stage carpenter with Staging Techniques for 8 years. Today, Guy advises several arts organizations on COVID compliance and safety, technical and scenic elements of production, curriculum development, administrative and artistic vision, budgeting, as well as fundraising. He was on the board for Nicu’s Spoon Theatre, and on the Board of Unity Stage Company. He is also a teaching artist and advisor to The Riverdale Children's Theatre Company and the Managing Director of the borough hopping Shakespeare troupe, Hip-to-Hip Theatre Company.
As a performer, Guy Ventoliere has studied under Ruby Dee, Eve Adamson of the Jean Cocteau Repertory Company, as well as with The Actor’s Studio and the American Academy of Dance and Drama. He has performed in over 100 plays for Broadway, Off-Broadway and regionally. Most recently, he was asked by Broadway director Gregory Mosher to represent the United States in Poland at the Krosno International Theatre competition. He also produced, managed, and acted in the recent production of Eugene O’Neill’s Plays of the Sea, securing the exceptional albeit challenging performance space amid the historic ship, the Wavertree, at the South Street Seaport. Since then, In March of 2018 Guy transitioned into film, and has worked on 56 projects since, from student films, to spots on major networks such as Comedy Central, honing a newfound constructive cognizance along the way. A consummate leader and professional, Guy’s breadth of knowledge and practice of theatrical production and performance only grows with each new production venture, no matter the medium.
